The Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation was attended by heads of regional legislative and executive bodies of state power, representatives of ministries and departments, scientific and expert communities.

On December 16, 2024, meetings of the Commissions of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation were held, where the legislative (representative) state authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation discussed topical issues of socio-economic development and signed a number of cooperation agreements.

The Speaker of the regional parliament took part in a meeting of the Commission of the Council of Legislators on Agrarian and food policy, environmental Management and ecology. On the agenda are issues of implementing state policy in the field of veterinary medicine, the development of domestic breeding and seed production, and state support for regions belonging to the Non–Chernozem zone of Russia.

Alexander Artyomov presented a report on the topic: "On the development of domestic breeding and seed production and the modernization of scientific infrastructure." The speaker of the regional parliament spoke about the experience of the Omsk region and its contribution to the common cause of the development of domestic breeding and seed production of agricultural crops and proposals for the development of this industry.

 

In his speech, Alexander Artyomov recalled that in accordance with the Presidential Decree "On approval of priority areas of scientific and technological development and the list of the most important high-tech technologies", highly productive and resistant to environmental changes agriculture belongs to the priority areas of scientific and technological development.

"In the context of the emergence of new risks and threats to food security, the development of breeding and seed production is of particular strategic importance. Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his Message to the Federal Assembly, set the task of achieving technological sovereignty in the agro–industrial complex, Alexander Artemov stressed. – The key role in achieving the set goals is played by providing domestic producers with seeds of agricultural crops of domestic selection. Joint purposeful work has allowed us to consolidate the positive trend in the Omsk region in sowing high-quality seeds. The result of this work was the harvest of this year, when Omsk farmers harvested almost 4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops."

   

On the same day, under the leadership of First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskinand Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Irina Yarova, a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Legislators was held, at which the progress of integration of new regions into the economic, social and legal systems of Russia, as well as the implementation of the Federal Law "On Northern Import", including the results of the navigation period 2024, was discussed.

 

On December 17, 2024, Alexander Artyomov will take part in the plenary session of the Council of Legislators. The meeting will be held by Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko. The central topics will be the prospects for the development of the MSW management system and the modernization of municipal infrastructure in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
