The exhibition displays more than 300 documents, including valuable ancient books from the library archives. Among the exhibits are codes of laws of the Russian Empire, the "Duma Collection", materials about Omsk deputies of the State Dumas of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, and, of course, about deputies and the activities of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region. In addition, on the stands there are photographs of deputies of all convocations of parliament, as well as photo chronicles of the activities of the Assembly. There is a wide range of media materials covering the regional parliament.
“We saw the stages in the formation of the representative government of the Omsk region: from the origins of its inception to the formation of a professional legislative body,” noted Vladimir Varnavsky during the opening of the exhibition. Over these years, more than 1,600 laws of the Omsk region have been adopted, aimed at social support of Omsk residents, economic development, innovative technologies, agriculture, and entrepreneurship. The speaker emphasized that the deputies of all five convocations managed to achieve the main thing - to work professionally for the benefit of Omsk residents, achieving effective interaction with authorities at various levels. As library director Alexander Remizov said in his welcoming speech, organizing exhibitions in the regional library dedicated to the activities of the Legislative Assembly is already becoming a tradition. The first such exhibition was opened in 2009, when the regional parliament turned 15.
The exhibition is open to everyone who wants to get acquainted with the history of the formation of Russian parliamentarism and the activities of the highest representative (legislative) body of state power in the Omsk region.
