The first meeting of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region of the sixth convocation took place. It considered organizational issues, proposals for the Chamber's work plan for 2017, information on patriotic education of young people in the Omsk region and other issues.
The meeting began with a speech by the chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Youth Policy of the regional parliament, Vladimir Polovinko. He wished the deputies success in the development of youth parliamentarism, and also informed about the applications received by the committee for inclusion in the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region. It should be noted that the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region is formed for the term of office of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region of the current convocation. In this regard, today a new composition of the chamber was formed from among the deputies of the regional parliament, the Omsk City Council, whose age does not exceed 35 years on the day of the decision on their inclusion in the Youth Chamber, and the chairmen of the youth chambers of district councils. Vladimir Polovinko, on behalf of the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region, Vladimir Varnavsky, congratulated the deputies on the start of work as part of the Youth Chamber.
Then the election of the leadership of the Chamber took place. Deputy of the regional parliament Natalia Ivanova was elected as its chairman, deputy of the regional parliament Igor Vereteno and chairman of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Council of the Poltava Municipal district of the Omsk region, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Poltava municipal district of the Omsk region Natalia Otamas, executive secretary – deputy of the regional parliament Anton Berendeev.
In addition, Natalia Ivanova was elected as a representative of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region as part of the Public Youth Chamber (Youth Parliament) at the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The chamber also decided to submit to the Speaker of the regional parliament Vladimir Varnavsky a proposal for a candidate for membership in the Chamber of Young Legislators at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The candidacy of Igor Vereteno has been proposed.
During the meeting, the deputies considered the issue of proposals for the work plan of the Youth Chamber for 2017. Among other issues, they heard and took note of information from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Omsk region on the patriotic education of youth in the Omsk region; information on the experience of holding socio-political events among the youth of the Poltava municipal district of the Omsk region dedicated to the days of military glory and memorable dates of Russia.

Natalia Ivanova, Chairman of the Youth Chamber, opened the meeting, outlining the agenda. Then the floor was given to Sergei Modenov, chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Youth Policy of the regional parliament, which oversees the activities of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region. He noted its important role in the development of lawmaking in the field of youth policy, and also stressed that the Youth Chamber, being an advisory body to the regional Parliament, contributed to the activities of the Legislative Assembly. During her work, she constructively and effectively interacted with the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Youth Policy, including taking part in committee meetings, and assisted the Assembly in implementing youth policy in the Omsk Region.
The first item on the agenda was information on the activities of the Public Youth Chamber (Youth Parliament) under the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. In addition, the participants of the meeting heard and discussed information about the activities of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the holding of the Forum of Young Legislators of the Omsk region on May 27-28, 2016.
At the end of the meeting, Natalia Ivanova summed up the activities of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region in the fifth convocation. In the course of its work, the Chamber considered a wide range of issues: the implementation of measures to hold the Year of Environmental Protection in the Omsk region in 2013; the experience of children's public associations in educational institutions of the Tarsky municipal district; the development of a regional system of career guidance work with young people as a factor in staffing enterprises of the military-industrial complex and others. Members of the Chamber took part in events held by the regional parliament, including round tables, parliamentary hearings, meetings of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Youth Policy, as well as cultural, sports, educational events of urban, regional and federal scales. In particular, in the Omsk Forum of Talented Youth, in the All-Russian open lesson dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the Federal Assembly, in events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and others.
