On April 9, 2019, the regional parliament hosted an awards ceremony for the winners and participants of the regional journalistic competition for the best information materials dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region. The diplomas were presented by the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, Vladimir Varnavsky.
The competition was held from September 3, 2018 to March 14
2019 in order to ensure the implementation of the rights of citizens and organizations to access
information on the activities of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk region, further
improving the work on information support for the activities of the regional
parliament and representative bodies of municipalities, increasing their
role in the formation and development of state, legal and public
relationships.
The organizers were the Legislative Assembly of Omsk
region together with the Omsk regional public organization "Union
journalists of Russia." The competition was held in seven categories: "Parliamentary
pool", "Reflection", "Agenda", "Deputy on
district", "Un Certain Regard", "Reporter" and
"PERSONALIA".
Competition participants became photojournalists,
videographers, journalists from TV channels, electronic media, regional, city and
regional newspapers. Individual publications, stories and programs were accepted for the competition,
and a series of materials.

and analytical focus of materials on diverse activities
Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, its committees and deputies, level
journalistic skill, genre diversity of materials, relevance,
originality of presentation, thematic and information richness of materials.
Opening the award ceremony, Vladimir Varnavsky,
first of all, thanked the media representatives for their active participation in
competition, noting that it was very difficult to choose winners. "We are glad
that we have experienced, talented journalists working for us,” the speaker said. – We welcome
pluralism of opinions, and it is present in your materials."
Vladimir Varnavsky drew attention to the fact that in
hall, among the diploma recipients there are journalists who throughout
25 years of activity of the regional parliament illuminate its work. At the same time, the speaker is highly
appreciated the role of the media in the development of parliamentarism in the Omsk region, popularization and
clarification of adopted laws. Speaking about the interaction between the deputy corps and
media, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly emphasized
that the media and the regional parliament are doing a common job aimed at developing and
strengthening the Omsk Irtysh region and our country.
During his speech, Vladimir Varnavsky briefly
spoke about the formation and activities of the regional parliament, saying that
To date, more than 2,150 laws have been adopted. Some of them at one time
became the basis for federal laws. Then the speaker presented the diplomas with great pleasure,
thanking those gathered with all my heart for their hard work, for the prompt,
comprehensive and professional coverage of the activities of the Legislative
Meetings of the Omsk region and expressing hope for further fruitful
cooperation. The winners of the competition in categories received prizes and diplomas
winners, and the contestants who actively covered the activities of the regional
Parliament, received diplomas from the competition participants. In addition, all diploma recipients were
awarded commemorative badges for the 25th anniversary of the Legislative Assembly
Omsk region.
In turn, the chairman of the Omsk regional
organization "Union of Journalists of Russia" Tatyana Bessonova on behalf of
journalistic community expressed gratitude to Vladimir Varnavsky for
openness of the regional parliament and interaction with the media, presenting a welcome
address in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region.
