Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Vladimir Varnavsky, by Order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated December 25, 2020 No. 317-rp, was included in the delegation of the Russian Federation to participate in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe ( KMRVSE) in 2021-2026.
Vladimir Alekseevich is a member of the Russian
delegations since Russia joined the Council of Europe (1996) and today it
the only one who has been working there since the first team. The delegation includes
prominent and authoritative Russian
politicians - leaders of republics, governors, senators, deputies,
mayors.
Vladimir Varnavsky’s many years of work experience at the KMRVSE is certainly important and in demand. All
these years he has consistently and principledly defended Russia’s position in
consideration in Strasbourg of issues relating to the integrity and independence of
our country, protects the interests of citizens of the Russian Federation. He was the first
parliamentary negotiator at NATO Headquarters.
Varnavsky conducted complex negotiations and discussions in
institutes of the Council of Europe on Chechnya issues, the situation of the Russian-speaking population
in the Baltic countries (Latvia), achieved a special resolution on this issue,
headed the Russian delegation in the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, an association
countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
Active international activities of the Chairman of the Legislative
The meeting of the Omsk region Vladimir Varnavsky is aimed at increasing
authority of Russia and contributes to the development of the Omsk region.
