In addition to the deputies of the Legislative Assembly and members of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the regional parliament, representatives of the Omsk regional public organization of veterans (pensioners), the Public Chamber of the Omsk region, youth chambers of deputies at the Councils of municipal districts of the Omsk region, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Omsk Region and other invitees.
The event began with excursions to the Museum Complex of Military Glory of Omsk. Then the plenary part of the meeting took place, which was opened by Natalya Ivanova, deputy of the regional parliament, chairman of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region. First of all, a report was heard on the activities of the regional public organization of veterans (pensioners) in preparation for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and the patriotic education of youth. They also discussed the contribution of the Omsk region to the Victory during the Great Patriotic War.
Reports were made at topics "On awarding the city of Omsk the honorary title of the Omsk region "City of Labor Glory", "Youth of the Omsk region towards the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory", "All-Russian patriotic public action "Sentry at the Victory Banner" in the Omsk Irtysh region", "On the participation of young Omsk residents in the All-Russian patriotic public action "Sentry at the Banner of Victory".
Ivan Magda, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, holder of the Order of the Red Star, Order of Glory III degree, awarded medals "For Courage" and other awards, Polina Pekhtereva, a home front worker, Galina Samsonova, a resident of besieged Leningrad. In their speeches, the meeting participants paid much attention to the patriotic education of youth. Those present agreed on the need to increase the number of hours on Russian history, as well as Russian literature, taught in educational institutions, including universities. At the end of the event, active participants in the preparations for the Victory Day celebration were awarded “Certificates of Honor” and presented with memorable souvenirs.
