On October 3, 2024, a meeting of the Youth Chamber of Deputies under the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region was held in video conferencing mode with the participation of representatives of executive authorities and the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Omsk Region, and deputies of the Omsk City Council.
The meeting began with a welcoming speech by Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Youth Policy Pavel Korennoy. He told about his working visit to the Luhansk People's Republic, where together with the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, Alexander Artemov, they took part in a solemn event dedicated to the presentation of passports of the Russian Federation to young activists of the Movement of the First
.
The first item on the agenda was the draft law of the Omsk Region " On amendments to Article 3.1 of the Law of the Omsk Region "On state Regulation of retail sale of alcoholic beverages in the territory of the Omsk Region". The explanatory note to the document states that "based on the proposals of youth and sports movements of the Omsk region, the draft law proposes to introduce a ban on the retail sale of alcoholic beverages on the territory of the Omsk Region from 10 o'clock to 22 o'clock local time on Youth Day."
In the course of their work, the members of the Chamber got acquainted with the results of the admission campaign in secondary vocational and higher education institutions in 2024. The discussion aroused active interest among young deputies, so it was decided to return to consideration of this issue at the next meeting.
Information was also provided on the interaction of the Youth Chamber with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Omsk Region. The deputies were presented with proposals for cooperation and interaction in addressing issues of youth policy and social protection of certain categories of citizens.
The meeting outlined the main areas of work of the Youth Chamber of Deputies in the autumn session.
