On September 17, 2024, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Alexander Artemov and Deputy Speaker of the Regional Parliament Valery Boyko took part in the first plenary session of the seventh session of the VIII convocation of the State Duma via videoconference. The autumn session will last until the end of December.
Heads of federal government bodies, members of the Central Election Commission, representatives of the Council of Legislators at the Federal Assembly, inter-parliamentary and interstate organizations were present as invited guests.Heads of legislative bodies of all 89 constituent entities of the Russian Federation were connected via videoconference.
The first session of this session began with a speech by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
The Chairman of the State Duma outlined seven key priorities in the work of deputies for the upcoming session: implementation of the Message of the President of Russia to the Federal Assembly, support for the participants of the Free Economic Zone and their families, consideration and adoption of the budget for 2025-2027, support for regional municipalities in the modernization of housing and communal services and renewal of urban electric transport, improving the effectiveness of parliamentary control over the implementation of state programs, protection of traditional values, culture, institute of family and Childhood and improvement of migration policy. To date, the State Duma has 1,113 draft laws in its legislative portfolio.
Further, representatives of the factions made speeches on topical socio-economic, political and other issues. Deputies considered a number of bills in the first and second readings.
Commenting on the event, Alexander Artemov noted that the regional parliament is preparing for the first plenary session of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region in the autumn session, which is scheduled for September 26, 2024.
"The regional parliament is actively working in relevant committees. We will have to adopt the regional budget, and social obligations remain a priority in its formation. We pay special attention to the economic development of the region, the implementation of national projects and social support measures. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us."
