The meeting was attended by deputies of the regional parliament, members of the Youth Chamber of Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, representatives of the Main Department of Internal Policy of the Omsk Region, the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region, the Regional Center for Public Relations and other invitees.
The meeting was chaired by Sergei Modenov, deputy of the Legislative Assembly, chairman of the committee on education, science, culture and youth policy of the regional parliament. The main issue on the agenda is information from the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region on the implementation of the Law of the Omsk Region dated July 4, 2008 No. 1055-OZ “On the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region”. The main report on this topic was made by the Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region, Lidiya Gerasimova. In addition, the heads of the organization’s specialized commissions spoke in detail about the activities of the chamber.



During performances the talk was about public councils under the executive authorities of the Omsk region, structures of public control and public expertise, and issues of interaction between business and government. Various proposals were also made to improve legislation. Those present especially emphasized the need for further cooperation between the authorities of the Omsk Irtysh region and the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region. Having considered the main issue on the agenda, the committee decided, in particular, to take into account the information from the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region on the implementation of the regional law on the Public Chamber of the Omsk Region.
Other issues were also considered at the committee meeting. Among them is the revised draft law No. 671-5 “On Amendments to the Law of the Omsk Region “On Innovation Activities in the Omsk Region”, aimed at expanding the capabilities of subjects of innovation activities. It was decided to recommend the bill to the regional parliament for adoption in the first reading.
