New restrictions proposed

Today, the Committee on Economic Policy and Investment held a meeting of the working group to prepare proposals to improve legislation in the field of regulation of retail sales of alcoholic beverages

The agenda included the results of inspections of compliance with legislation in the production and circulation of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products; information was heard about sending ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products seized from illegal circulation and confiscated in the Omsk Region for processing or destruction; proposals were discussed to amend the Law “On State Regulation of Retail Sales of Alcoholic Products in the Omsk Region” in terms of establishing restrictions on the places where public catering services are provided where retail sales of alcoholic beverages are carried out; amendments were presented to the draft law "On Amendments to Article 3.1 of the Law of the Omsk Region "On State Regulation of Retail Sales of Alcoholic Products in the Omsk Region" regarding the ban on retail sales of low-alcohol tonic drinks.
The decision adopted by the working group, in particular, notes that, at the proposal of the working group, the Omsk Law “On Amendments to Article 3.1 of the Omsk Region Law “On State Regulation of the Retail Sale of Alcoholic Products in the Omsk Region” was adopted. The law established additional restrictions on the retail sale of alcoholic beverages from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. local time in places where public catering services are provided, located in non-stationary retail facilities. Currently, there is a need to adopt a law in the Omsk region, which will introduce a ban on the retail sale of low-alcohol tonic drinks in the region. The corresponding law will be submitted for consideration to the Committee on Economic Policy and Investment.
