"When planning the round table, we wanted raise the question of preparing school students - future applicants, according to such a subject as physics, but in the end they decided that it was necessary to discuss training of future applicants in general for engineering, technical and natural sciences specialty, - noted the chairman Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Youth Policy of the Regional parliament Vladimir Polovinko, outlining the issues of the “round table." – The goal is to provide high-quality training for applicants in our region. The topic, of course, is broad: we can talk about career guidance, the outflow of graduates to other cities, employment, quality of jobs, but today I would like to dwell specifically on the preparation of future applicants for technical specialties."

Then there were reports were presented covering various aspects of the issue of preparing applicants for natural sciences and engineering specialties. It was about accepting measures to improve the quality of education in general education organizations, about training of students in general education organizations of the city of Omsk for subjects of natural science and physical and mathematical profiles, about provision of necessary resources, about the main directions, problems and prospects for training teaching staff in natural sciences and physics and mathematics profiles at Omsk State Pedagogical University. Was information was also made public about the quality of preparation of applicants in subjects natural science and physical and mathematical profiles. And using the example of JSC "ONIIP" and JSC "Ompo "Irtysh" the audience learned about system of personnel training "school-enterprise-university".



In reports The participants of the round table heard information, in particular, about that according to monitoring data organized by the Ministry of Education Omsk region, in 2017 the number of Omsk schoolchildren who chose for further training in a technical specialty, as in institutions of secondary vocational education and universities. Important motivational component in choosing engineering education are children's associations, technical circles.

Noting positive results of the events, those present identified a number of pressing issues that should be addressed in order to improve the quality preparing future applicants. They talked about the need to raise the level qualifications of teachers and in general about the problem of personnel in schools, as well as the state material and technical base of educational institutions; on further popularization teacher profession; about the weak motivation of schoolchildren to enter universities for engineering degrees specialties. The problems of reducing budget places were touched upon, including in postgraduate studies, training for the development of the digital economy and artificial technologies intelligence, development of science.
During the discussion pressing issues, representatives of universities and enterprises made many proposals. IN in particular, on the creation of physics and mathematics boarding schools at universities, the expansion practices of patronage of universities and enterprises over schools, development of educational complexes on the basis of several schools, on strengthening work in targeted areas, further work on career guidance, on intensifying interaction between universities and enterprises with centers SB RAS in Omsk.
