During the visit, the speaker held a meeting with the head of the Tarsky Municipal District, where he discussed current issues and prospects for the development of sports infrastructure in the district, assessed the state of sports facilities and took part in the opening of the Tarsky Half Marathon.
 


Both professional athletes and fans of a healthy lifestyle from all over the Omsk region took part in the races.
 
Such launches help in the implementation of the federal project "Sport is the norm of life" of the national project "Demography", which was launched by the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The main goal of the movement is to improve the quality of life of Russians and create conditions for active physical education and sports throughout the country. 



Before the start of the race, the Speaker of the regional parliament greeted the athletes and wished them good luck:
"It's nice to see that every year Omsk residents' interest in amateur sports is growing, and more and more people are realizing the importance of sports in their lives. The organization of the Tarski Half Marathon also contributes to this. Let me remind you that popularizing the culture of health as a basic value and promoting a healthy lifestyle are among the main tasks listed in the Strategy for Integrated Child Safety until 2030, approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin, " Alexander Artemov emphasized. – It is noteworthy that the 2024 m race is dedicated specifically to the participants of the military operation. The Omsk Region has been supporting both front-line fighters and residents of the border areas since the beginning of the Northern Military District. Many residents of Omsk provide assistance, make their contribution, take care of their fellow countrymen and sincerely worry about them, realize the magnitude of the feats that children perform in the special military operation zone. "



Alexander Artemov also thanked the head of the district and athletes for supporting the development of sports, noting that the race is part of the line of major cross-country events that he is famous for the region.

The half marathon program includes four distances: 600 m-for preschoolers (family run), 2024 m-for all comers, 21.1 km - for experienced participants (over 15 years old), as well as ekiden at a distance of 21.1 km. The 2024 m race is dedicated to the participants of a special military operation.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the first Tarski Half Marathon – the first races in the Northern capital of the region were held on July 31, 2004.
It should be noted that the Tarsky municipal district supports the traditions of Omsk sports, develops various sports areas, a large number of participants are attracted by the "Queen of Sports" holiday, the youth judo tournament of small towns of Siberia. In 2020, the city opened a motorcycle highway named after Alexander Nevsky. Last year, it hosted major national competitions – a stage of the championship and championship of Russia in single classes of motorcycles.
