On January 23, 2020, the regional parliament, at its first plenary session in the spring session, approved the Plan of main activities for the preparation and holding of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

On December 19, 2019, deputies of the regional parliament, at the plenary session concluding the autumn session, adopted the main financial document of the Omsk Irtysh region for the next three years - the law of the Omsk region “On the regional budget for 2020 and for the planning period of 2021 and 2022.” Almost three quarters of the budget are aimed at solving social issues, expenses for the implementation of national projects have been doubled, the development of the scientific, educational and cultural potential of the region, the construction of social facilities, roads and other expense items have been provided. In addition, the deputies considered a draft federal law on the honorary title of the Russian Federation “City of Labor Valor”.

On November 28, 2019, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region adopted in the first reading the draft law “On the regional budget for 2020 and for the planning period of 2021 and 2022.”

On November 21, 2019, in the conference hall of the Government of the Omsk Region, public hearings were held on the draft law of the Omsk Region “On the regional budget for 2020 and for the planning period of 2021 and 2022” with the participation of the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Vladimir Varnavsky and the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region region Valery Boyko.

On October 24, 2019, the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region adopted the law “On Amendments to the Law of the Omsk Region “On the Regional Budget for 2019 and for the Planning Period of 2020 and 2021.” In accordance with it, funds are planned to increase wages for public sector employees and others expense items.

On September 26, 2019, at the first plenary meeting of the regional parliament in the autumn session, the Governor of the Omsk Region, Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region, Alexander Burkov, made a report on the main directions of budgetary, economic and social policy for 2020 (message from the Governor of the Omsk Region to the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region on the state of affairs in the Omsk region).

On July 11, 2019, at the last plenary meeting of the spring session, deputies of the regional parliament approved changes to the Law of the Omsk Region “On the regional budget for 2019 and for the planning period of 2020 and 2021”, aimed at increasing revenues and expenses of the regional budget, and adopted a number of others important laws. At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, Vladimir Varnavsky, summed up the work of the deputy corps.

On June 13, 2019, at the regular meeting, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region heard a report from the Governor of the Omsk Region on the results of the activities of the Government of the Omsk Region in 2018.

On May 16, 2019, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region adopted for consideration a draft of a new regional law aimed at limiting the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors in the Omsk Region.
