On June 17, 2021, deputies of the regional parliament at the next plenary meeting heard a report from the Governor of the Omsk Region on the results of the activities of the Government of the Omsk Region in 2020. In addition, parliamentarians scheduled elections of deputies to the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region for September 19, 2021, having adopted a corresponding resolution.

At the regular plenary meeting held today, May 20, 2021, the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region adopted laws providing for innovations in the elections of deputies of the regional parliament and the Governor of the Omsk Region.

Several bills introduced at the plenary meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region on March 18, 2021 related to amendments to the Code of the Omsk Region on social protection of certain categories of citizens.

Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Vladimir Varnavsky said this at the regular plenary meeting of the regional parliament, held on February 18, 2021, during the consideration of the first changes to the main financial document of the Omsk Irtysh region for the next three years. At the same time, the speaker noted the need for mandatory control over the use of funds and implementation of programs.

On January 28, 2021, the first plenary meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region took place in the spring session. The deputies summed up the results and approved the Plan of legislative work of the regional parliament for 2021. In total, the agenda included several dozen issues affecting various areas of the economy and social policy of the Omsk Irtysh region.

On December 24, 2020, the regional parliament, at the plenary session concluding the autumn session, adopted the law of the Omsk region “On the regional budget for 2021 and for the planning period of 2022 and 2023.” Almost 70 percent of the main financial document of the Omsk Irtysh region for 2021 is spent on social policy. Funding is provided for activities on nine national projects. The amount of funds for their implementation is one and a half times more than in the current year.

The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region stated this during the consideration of the draft main financial document of the Omsk Irtysh region for the next three years at a plenary meeting of the regional parliament on November 26, 2020. Parliament members decided to adopt the draft regional budget for 2021-2023 in the first reading.

On October 22, 2020, the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region considered a package of bills aimed at ensuring economic development and supporting business in connection with the spread of the new coronavirus infection. It is planned to introduce new tax preferences and extend existing ones, creating additional conditions for attracting investment to the Omsk region.
