On April 23, the regional parliament adopted the Law of the Omsk Region “On Amendments to the Code of the Omsk Region on Social Protection of Certain Categories of Citizens.” In accordance with it, a new preferential category of citizens has been established in the Omsk region - war orphans

On March 28, the regional parliament adopted a law increasing the revenues and expenses of the regional budget

On February 26, 2013, in the regional parliament there was a meeting of the delegation of the Saxon Landtag of the Federal Republic of Germany, headed by the President of the Saxon Landtag, member of the Presidium Dr. Matthias Rössler, as well as the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Novosibirsk, Mr. N. Höfer-Wissing, with the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Vladimir Varnavsky, deputies regional parliament, representatives of regional and city authorities and the business community. During the meeting, the Speaker of Parliament and the President of the Landtag signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region and the Saxon Landtag.

From February 26 to March 1, the official delegation of the Saxon Landtag of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Novosibirsk, Mr. N. Hoefer-Wissing, are scheduled to visit the Omsk region. The German delegation is headed by the President of the Saxon Landtag, member of the Presidium, Dr. Matthias Rössler.

On February 13, 2013 in Khakassia, at a joint meeting of the Council under the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District and the Council of the Interregional Association "Siberian Agreement", Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District Viktor Tolokonsky, on behalf of the President of Russia, presented Vladimir Varnavsky with a Certificate of Honor from the President of the Russian Federation.

On February 8, 2013, a meeting of the Youth Chamber of Deputies under the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region was held in the regional parliament. It discussed organizational issues, elected governing bodies and a representative to the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

On January 24, at the first plenary session of the spring session, the Legislative Assembly adopted the regional law “On amending the Law of the Omsk Region “On State Regulation of Retail Sales of Alcohol Products in the Omsk Region.”
