On October 25, 2018, at the regular plenary meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, the Governor of the Omsk Region, Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region, Alexander Burkov, made a report on the main directions of budgetary, economic and social policy for 2019 (message from the Governor of the Omsk Region to the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region on the state of affairs in Omsk region).

On September 27, 2018, deputies of the regional parliament considered laws aimed at social support for certain categories of citizens.

On September 14, 2018, at a ceremonial meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, held in the Concert Hall of the Omsk Philharmonic, Alexander Burkov took the oath and assumed the position of Governor of the Omsk Region.

On July 5, 2018, the last plenary meeting of the regional parliament took place in the spring session. At the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Vladimir Varnavsky summed up the work of the deputy corps.

On June 26, 2018, in the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region, a visiting meeting of the Committee on Housing Policy and Housing and Communal Services of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was held on the issues of “Strengthening load-bearing structures and extending the service life of five-story residential buildings of a mass series with an incomplete frame” and “Fulfillment of obligations by a former landlord for carrying out major repairs of apartment buildings." It was attended by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Housing Policy and Housing and Communal Services Galina Khovanskaya, the Acting Governor of the Omsk Region Alexander Burkov and the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Vladimir Varnavsky.

On June 21, the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region held public hearings on the report on the execution of the regional budget for 2017. The event was attended by Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region Vladimir Varnavsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region Valery Boyko, deputies of the regional parliament, representatives of regional ministries and departments, territorial government bodies of the Russian Federation, local governments and the media.

On June 7, 2018, deputies of the regional parliament heard a report from the Acting Governor of the Omsk Region on the results of the activities of the Government of the Omsk Region in 2017. In addition, the Legislative Assembly scheduled early elections for the Governor of the Omsk Region for September 9, 2018, having adopted a corresponding resolution.

On May 17, 2018, at a regular meeting, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region considered a package of bills aimed at expanding social support measures for certain categories of citizens, including large families.

The meeting of the regional parliament that took place today became symbolic. It was on this day, April 12, 24 years ago, that the first meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the Omsk Region took place. As in those years, the agenda included issues affecting the socio-economic development of the Omsk region. The deputies paid special attention to issues of cross-border cooperation, as well as the quality of medical services.
